On St. Patrick’s day, we celebrated by going to see the world’s most famous green person make her way to the world’s most famous green city. Yep, that’s right, folks. We saw Wicked!! It was my very first Broadway play (albeit not technically on Broadway), and it was, of course, delightful.
I had another first on April 3, which was Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s. I had never tried their ice cream before, so I deemed it worthwhile to wait in the long line outside on a cold, rainy Portland evening. But it was worth every penny. As Gary so aptly described it, the ice cream was very “sticky”. I opted to try the chocolate chip cookie dough, and despite my choice
being arguably unadventurous, I defend it by pointing out that Ben and Jerry were the inventors of cookie dough ice cream, and I wanted to taste the original. Plus, Gary got a more exciting flavor and he always lets me try his stuff.
Speaking of Gary being a lovely husband friend, he bought me a fancy REI camping backpack yesterday. We’re going to go backpacking once or twice a year and use it to hold my 72-hour kit for the other 361 days of the year.
We got some blueberry bushes in the hopes that we’ll entice Stephanie to come visit us again this summer. I still don’t know what gets Jill excited nowadays… I’ll have to work on that.
Well, my dinner is ready. Adios!
