A few months ago, I was going about my buisness when I suddenly got overwhelmingly sad. There was no reason for it that I could identify, but the emotion was genuine and painful. As I felt myself welling up with tears, I noticed that I was thirsty. I got myself a big glass of cold water and, after drinking it, I was miraculously cured of my sadness. Not a trace left.
I've had many bouts of thirst-related sadness since. It's difficult every time I get that sad (it's still real sadness even though the cause is dumb), but it's nice having a quick and easy remedy for it. It has, however, had an unintended side-effect.
The other day, Gary was teasing me about something. I told him that he was going to make me sad. "That's okay," he responded. "I'll just go get you a drink of water."
